Dean O'Connell
Dean has been playing golf for 15 years and turned professional at the age of 22 when he began a Traineeship with the New Zealand Professional Golfers Association. Graduating from this in 2008 as a class 'AA' Professional. He began work here at Pelican Waters Golf Club on Monday the 4th of January and wishes to thank everybody who has welcomed him in. He will be working alongside Kieran as a Teaching Professional here.
A bit of his background (so you all feel like you know him a little)! Dean began golf at the age of 10 using his grandfather's clubs and taking as much instruction from him as he could. He always loved playing and eventually gained provincial representation. Golf got put on the back burner for a while for his other passion, Softball, in which he represented New Zealand. But the time came when he had to make a choice as to which he could make a better career out of, and he chose golf!
